Last fall, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments deliberating the future of the DACA program. A decision is anticipated to be released between April and June of this year. The Court may decide to discontinue the DACA program. If this were to occur, DACA recipients would no longer be able to renew their DACA.
The uncertainty of the future’s program is undoubtedly weighing on the minds of many. We can still take the proactive step of applying for renewal of DACA to try to obtain at least two more years of employment authorization prior to any decision. Given the current situation, if your DACA expires in the next year, we strongly urge you to apply to renew in this time window before the U.S. Supreme Court makes its decision.
For previous clients, we are scheduling over-the-phone consultations at no charge with our attorneys to discuss DACA renewal eligibility. We recommend calling or emailing our office to schedule your consultation.
Please do not hesitate to contact our office if you have any questions or concerns regarding DACA, or any other matter.
