On September 8, 2022, USCIS published the Federal Register Notice outlining the process for current Venezuelan TPS holder to re-register through March 10, 2024.
Earlier this year, TPS was extended for Venezuelans for an additional 18 months, from September 10, 2022, through March 10, 2024. To maintain TPS through March 10, 2024, current Venezuela TPS holders must re-register during the published 60-day re-registration period. This period runs from September 8, 2022, through November 7, 2022.
Venezuelans with approved EADs based on TPS – categories (a)(9) or (c)(12) – are automatically extended through September 9, 2023. However, to receive a new EAD card through March 10, 2024, the TPS holder must re-register.
Only Venezuelans with approved TPS status may re-register during this period. USCIS will no longer receive applications for initial registration.
If your initial TPS or EAD applications are still pending as of September 8, 2022, you will not need to file a new application. If USCIS approves your applications, they will be approved through March 10, 2024.
