President Biden issued a proclamation that suspended and limited travel to the U.S. for certain noncitizens who were present in certain African countries 14 days before their entry to the U.S.

This proclamation went into effect on 12:01AM, Monday, November 29th, 2021. The following countries are affected by this proclamation:

  • Republic of Botswana
  • Kingdom of Eswatini
  • Kingdom of Lesotho
  • Republic of Malawi
  • Republic of Mozambique
  • Republic of Namibia
  • Republic of South Africa
  • Republic of Zimbabwe

This proclamation will remain in effect until the President makes a decision to end this policy. The travel ban does not apply to legal permanent residents, U.S. citizens, spouses and parents of U.S. citizens or permanent residents under 21 years of age, and other categories of noncitizens.

Travel bans and other changes in immigration policy continue in the age of COVID. If you, a family member, or an employee, are thinking about traveling or making arrangements for visas, feel free to contact Knudson & Associates.
